Cantor Nathaniel Schudrich

Cantor Nathaniel Schudrich is the chazzan of our congregation. He attended grade school at the Hebrew Academy of Suffolk County. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Rutgers University in psychology. Prior to joining Tifereth Israel, he was Assistant Cantor at B'nai Israel in Rockville, Maryland and Baal Koreh and teacher at Har-Tzeon in Silver Spring, Maryland. Cantor Schudrich studied chazzanut and voice privately with Cantor Robert Kieval and Cantor Richard Wolberg. He is a member of the Cantors' Assembly. He and his wife, Melynda, live in Dartmouth and have three sons, David, Asher and Ezra.

Executive Director, Kate Rose

Kate, a native of Mattapoisett, MA, is driven by a strong sense of purpose and dedication to building meaningful relationships, furthering the development of our sacred community, and ensuring Tifereth Israel’s long-term sustainability and success.

She received a Bachelor’s Degree in Philosophy from the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth, and a Master of Arts in History and English from the National University of Ireland, Galway. Prior to joining Tifereth Israel, she was the Assistant Director of the Holocaust and Genocide Center at Bristol Community College in Fall River, MA. She is a member of the North American Association of Synagogue Executives.

Kate finds particular inspiration in the words of Rabbi Abraham Joshua Heschel: “Our goal should be to live life in radical amazement. ....get up in the morning and look at the world in a way that takes nothing for granted. Everything is phenomenal; everything is incredible; never treat life casually. To be spiritual is to be amazed.”

Kate lives in New Bedford with her son, Eoghan.

Education Director, Melynda Schudrich

Melynda Schudrich is the Director of the Ziskind School of Judaism. She received a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from Towson State University, followed by a Masters’ of Arts in Teaching, with a certification in Special Education from Towson and Trinity College. Melynda currently holds Special Education Certification in Massachusetts. She was a member of the Ziskind School faculty for ten years prior to becoming the director, and teaches at a local school. She and her husband, Nathaniel, live in Dartmouth and have three sons, David, Asher and Ezra.

Youth Director, Jackie Mindlin

Jackie Mindlin is the current youth director of New Bedford USY (NBUSY). She grew up involved with our congregation through the Hebrew School as well as USY. She went to college at the University of New Haven, but has transferred back home and couldn't be happier to be back with her community. She currently studies criminal law and works at the Olive Garden as well as teaching at our Ziskind School. Jackie was an active member of USY for 7 years, as well as serving on the USY Regional board in 2020. Being the Director of USY has been passed down to her from her father Larry. She lives in Dartmouth with her parents and roomate, Bella.
